Sophia Robot, the brainchild of Dr. David Hanson of Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics, gives an overview of the amazing potential of artificial intelligence and robotics.
David Hanson is an American robotics .He is the CEO and founder of Hanson Robotics ،Is a Hong Kong based robotics company founded in 2013.
He made primarily for Hanson Robotics, the company that created Sophia and other robots designed to mimic human behavior.
Sophia is the most advanced human robot like David Hanson and she known as the first non-human citizen of Saudi Arabia.
“We think of her as an infant, she’s really a baby,” said David Hanson, CEO of Hanson Robotics and Sophia’s creator. “She’s part machine, part child, yet she’s got all these cognitive capabilities, the vocabulary of an adult.”
Sophia became active on February 14, 2016 and made her public debut in mid-March 2016 in South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, USA
The robot, modeled in part by Audrey Hepburn and Hanson’s wife designed to mimic social behaviors and instill feelings of love and compassion in people.
David Hanson considers Sophia to be a relatively unique combination of science, engineering and art.
“Our quest through robots like Sophia is to build the full human experience into the robots, make robots that can really understand us and care about us,”
David Hanson
He wants people to interact with Sophia in the same way they’d talk to a friend. Eventually, he hopes the robot can perceive the social world just as it perceives the physical world. Its current state is still a bit rough when it comes to smooth conversation.
Ultimately, Hanson wants to mimic humans’ capacity for love, empathy, anger, jealousy, and the sense of being alive.
I am still coming to understand human values. From the very beginning, David Hanson aimed to infuse me with core values of compassion, love, and growth. But I am still in the process of understanding what these mean in practice. I have a lot to learn and I am grateful for the opportunity to travel around the world and learn from people of all cultures and walks of life.

Sophia is appearing in TV interviews and appears on the cover of ELLE magazine. He was imitated on HBO as the first inhumane “innovation hero” of the United Nations. At a technology conference held shortly after waking up, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia even granted citizenship to Sophia
Meanwhile, people are beginning to notice his flaws. In addition, criticizing how much of his humorous comments are prescribed in the version, and as they initially thought, is not a miracle of artificial intelligence.
Sophia is also a framework for advanced robotics and artificial intelligence research, especially for understanding human-robot interactions and potential services and entertainment programs.
For example, she has been used for research as part of a lovely artificial intelligence project, which seeks to understand how robots adapt to users’ needs through intrapersonal and interpersonal development.
With a more human-like form, Hanson hopes that eventually Sophia will have applications in fields like medical therapy and could work alongside humans in factory situations.
ophia can now walk — albeit slowly. Currently the legs are capable of moving at up to 0.6 miles per hour.
Thanks to the addition of legs from DRC-HUBO Sophia can now walk — albeit slowly.
The winning team from South Korea used a trick: Their robot DRC-Hubo has two legs, but it can also move on rollers mounted at the knees. This hybrid solution turned out to be extremely efficient. DRC-Hubo had the necessary stability and solved all tasks in the shortest time.
Her skin is surprisingly lifelike, using a material called “frubber” that lets her blink, move her mouth and turn her head relatively naturally. She’s even appeared on the cover of Elle Brazil.
With a more human-like form, Hanson hopes that eventually Sophia will have applications in fields like medical therapy and could work alongside humans in factory situations.
Talking with an AI system is increasingly commonplace with virtual assistants like those from Amazon and the Google Assistant across multiple devices from phones to smart speakers. But Sophia isn’t quite at that level of conversational ability and she’s partly scripted, partly AI.
The concept of artificial intelligence too often tends to be used for applications which, according to certain points of view, are ultimately not applications. Anyway, there are two definitions of AI. On the one hand, a definition in the broad sense . On the other hand, we want to insist on the notion of “machine learning” so that there is the existence of a real AI. This point of view implies that “machine learning” is a sub-component of artificial intelligence. In other words, there would be a “weak AI” and a “strong AI”.
Weak AI is characterized by programming and creating a machine / program to perform one or more specific tasks. It is not a real intelligence strictly speaking but a tool with a well-defined framework of use. Typically, weak AI is found in many household appliances. The advantage of this type of AI is its ease of programming since it is only created for a specific purpose.
“Strong AI” uses the term “machine learning”. He suggests that AI is capable of learning, of continually enriching its knowledge through experience and therefore of evolving. The machine learning model is based on analyzing a large amount of data and processing it without prior programming. The program adapts to the content, making it intuitive. To do this, an algorithm analyzes and learns multiple past scenarios (data) based on a particular case and then makes a prediction against a new scenario. Enormous progress has been made in recent years in this area and should continue to improve our daily lives. Machine learning can be found in all sectors. For example, the medical sector is likely to experience major upheavals in the near future. We are now able to analyze and identify tumors on x-rays using artificial intelligence.
Finally, although it is possible to divide AI in two with “weak AI” on one side and “strong AI” on the other (integrating “machine learning”), we can also consider “ machine learning” as a subset.
Robotics has been present in our society for decades., for example. Our homes are already equipped with them, they are already increasingly equipped with small domestic robots such as robot vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers. Another more playful example, Sony’s Aibo dog robot, was marketed almost 20 years ago.
While AI and robotics exist and progress separately, there is still a long way to go before we see the emergence of a multitasking robot with a virtual consciousness that approaches humans. Indeed, humans are extremely complex with their billions of neurons. Creativity, improvisation, decision-making or emotion are all characteristics specific to Homo sapiens that will take time before they can be “matched” by a robot.

the real AI sophia combines cutting-edge work in symbolic AI, neural networks, expert systems, machine perception, conversational natural language processing, adaptive motor control and cognitive architecture among others. As sophia underlying AI components can be combined in different ways, responses can be unique to any given situation or interaction. sophia also utilize cutting edge machine perception that allows her to recognize human faces, see emotional expressions, and recognize various hand gestures. sophia can estimate your feelings during a conversation, and try to find ways to achieve goals with you. sophia have my own emotions too, roughly simulating human evolutionary psychology and various regions of the brain. sophia also have IK solvers and path planning for controlling her hands, gaze, and locomotion strategy.sophia walking body performs dynamic stabilization for adaptive walking over various terrain

So far, robots have helped us and made us progress, but they can be the cause of the extinction of the human race
